The Boon and the Bane called Technology !!

The Boon and the Bane called Technology !!

Technology is like today's generation kids.
We teach our kids how to walk, how to talk and how to live. As they grew up , the level of control diminish.
They sometimes fail to keep the values which are taught to them.

The human robot works the same way,, we invest our knowlede ,energy and time to design the robot the way it has to work.
But the outcome could be different.
They fail to keep our instructions.

There are both advantages and disadvantages in using any technology.

I am never against the technology or its use but i fear the dangerous outcomes it has for us.

Albert Einstein once said, "I fear the day technology will surpass our human interaction.
The world will have a generation of Idiots.

Recently , I came across a video where the car tyres are designed to turn 180 degree which was super awesome.
Yes, this helps you to park your car without any difficulty.
But i am not that flexible giving the complete power to the steering and sit idle.

Now to wash our clothes too, we have our  washing machine .
I am happy because if my clothes from the machine did not come out super clean but still I can wear them alive and i am fine to use such technology where I am out of risks or any danger.
I am happy that it is Not 'ME' but my clothes are in the washing machine.

After operating any of the three buttons - Low, meduim, high..on your mixi.
Whatever the outcome looks like or taste like, you will still stay alive unless it is not a killing poison that you put in your mouth.
Be happy that it is Not 'YOU' but your food is screwed up in the mixi.

These advance technologies save our time and energy to a great extent and are really helpful.

I fear the day where a robot chef fails to use the kitchen knife correctly and you end up in getting murderd.

We are put under greater risks when we give complete control to technology.

When travelling in an airplane or
When I use Lift.
I am afraid !!

But let's continue using technology which are less risk and more beneficial.

I would also like to put my ideas here about the use of Lift:
Introducing "Lift Tower" or "The Tower Lift"

How about if we bring a concept of a 'Drop tower' or 'free fall' in a lift, but not really drops like a drop tower or free fall..
The frequency of speed of a lift moving in any direction would be normal speed and remains the same.

Lift Design :

The Lift Tower has to be placed at the center of a mall or any buliding.
The Lift tower can have four lift cabins facing North, South, east and west respectively.
The lift cabin must be designed to move both vertical and horizontal.

The cabins attached to the tower lift moves in an upward(verticle) direction like our regular lifts and from the center, it moves horizontal to drop the people to the floor.(It should work like a ship and the way it connects to the land)

Instead of keeping it complete open and scary like a drop tower. The lift cabin must be covered till shoulder level, a 3/4th part from all the four sides and have steps to come out during an emergency.
Every cabin holds a capacity of ten people.
You can have just two to four seats in each cabin for old/sick/ children/disabled to sit and others can stand.

And followed by the necessary safety measures. we need to have a foam pit or sponge trampoline kind of arrangement for that particular area, if at all a person accidently falls then the person is at lower risks of getting injured or facing death.
I assume that this idea might stop dangerous lift failures And deaths.

Also if this can be designed to look like a parachute (parachute look for each lift cabin) it really looks beautiful especially in the shopping malls or any sight-seeing public places.

Hope to have a good future.
Good luck to all !!

Talk and Text

'Talk and Text' !!

What do you get in mind when you hear these powerful Ts - "Talk" and "Text".
Yes, its our all time favourite  -Phone.

In recent years, we are tend to find more happiness talking over the phone rather than talking face to face or joy of texting on phone than not talking at all.

India and many other countries like USA, singapore , South korea, Canada etc are texting more than talking.

Research also shows that texting is five times more than talking..
US spends almost 20minutes per day in texting and barely 2-5minutes talking.
They have this "Talk and Text" app too introduced.

Texting put us at ease and it is comfortable than talking. So most of us prefer texting.
Texting is dominating over talking.

Either you talk or text , your expressions or emotions mean a lot.

And if anyone on the earth who is born with multiple facial expressions are 'we humans'.
But the emoticons have taken the place all over.

Lets see how strong these Emoticons play the role alone or along the text.

When someone texts you..
How are you and you reply 'I am Good.

It is simply just
"I am Good"
Or
I  am Good🙂
I  am Good😎
I  am Good🙄
I  am Good😀
I  am Good😠
I  am Good😭
I  am Good😑

The Text is same but expressions are different ..
The Emoticons which are connected to the text hold power!!
Each one of them gives different sense and meaning. It depends on the persons mood and state.

Have you realised that phones have taken away the beauty of greeting each other face to face. Those emoticons have killed the beauty of natural expressions.
But yes , I appreciate the fact that phones are the ones who keeps us in touch when the person is away and it is useful in many other ways too.

Who knew there would come one day where your wanted to laugh out loud and when the signals are sent to the brain and then those Lol emoticon 😁😁pops out on your forehead , where you even without letting your mouth open wide.
And there you go, technology wins because you did not let your jaw muscles do that thing and you saved the energy.
I feel like I quit using technology at this point.

I am not against the technology and its use but i fear for the dangerous outcomes it has for us.
Albert Einstein once said, "I fear the day technology will surpass our human interaction.
The world will have a generation of Idiots.

We are so attached to the phone so that our heartbeats and phone notifications go hand-in-hand.
Both must be equally active in order to keep ourselves alive.

Many of us are dealing with phone virus like coronavirus, once infected cant help it out.
Both Coronavirus and Phone Virus put your life at risk.
One might take away your life, the other will take away your time or vice-versa.

The most powerful pair words in the world are:

Life and death!!

Life and death are natural, But, are not in our hands .
In between we play a major role.

The beautiful Smile,  those wonderful expressions,  which are also natural but are in our hands, so let us not destroy them.
Let us use them in a nice way and creat a beautiful Life of our own.

Also lets Talk and text something Good, positive, worthy and valued.
Let our Talk and Text add value to our life and to others.

10 words for Book lovers!

10 words for book lovers!

Lili Feinberg who is an intern working for oxford Dictioneries writes an excellent and useful article named "10words for book lovers" is a must read for every reader and writer.

Happy reading!!

10 words for book lovers
We rather suspect that you’re fond of reading – correct us if we’re being too hasty, but you have that look about you. Whether you’re reading at the gloaming (i.e. the best time of the day to read) or dawn, or in your bed or near the inglenook  – the undisputed best place to read in the winter – this post is for you. Here are ten unusual words that all book lovers should know.

1. tsundoku
Tsundoku is a Japanese word that has no direct synonym in English. It means, ‘the act of leaving a book unread after buying it, typically piling it up together with other such unread books.’ This may be similar to being buried under a pile of unread books, which is every book lover’s reality.

2. colophon
A colophon is the easiest way to recognize a publisher because it is a publisher’s emblem or imprint that can often be found on the title page or on the spine of a book. When a reader starts noticing the same colophon on all their favorite books they may realize this publisher appeals to their reading preferences and may follow future publications.

3. libricide
Although rarely used today, libricide—the ‘killing’ of a book—is the last thing any book lover wants to hear about. In the same vein, biblioclasm can make any book lover’s heart stop because it is the intentional destruction of books, or specifically of the Bible.

4. bibliotaph
Many readers identify as bibliotaphs, or people who bury their books by keeping them under lock and key. Bibliotaphs are often readers who hoard their books and protect them from others. Such habits may come from bibliolatry, or the extravagant admiration of a book, making readers want to protect their stories.

In all seriousness, books have to be protected from biblioklepts, even those who steal books unintentionally by forgetting to return them, because we just can’t have that.

5. princeps
The first edition or printing of a book is known as the princeps. Some princeps are worth a great deal both financially and emotionally; a recent example is the Harry Potter series. Serious book collectors may seek out incunabula, or early printed books (those prior to the year 1501), instead of concerning themselves with modern princeps.

6. bibliognost
This term refers to someone who knows books and bibliography. Taken from the root word biblio- combined with the Greek γνώστης,‘one who knows’, a bibliognost knows the minutiae of every page. This is one serious book lover!

7. hamartia
Perhaps one of the most gut-wrenching moments in a reading experience is a beloved character’s downfall. Hamartia refers specifically to a fatal flaw that leads to the downfall of a tragic hero or heroine. Hamartia is dominantly used in Aristotle’s Poetics to describe the destruction of heroes due to ignorance.

Some instances of hamartia are so serious that readers may engage in finifugal, which is shunning the end (of anything). Conveniently forgetting the ending of a book that dissatisfied you is a reader’s main coping mechanism when disappointed.

8. librocubicularist
Librocubicularist hasn’t made its way into Oxford Dictionaries just yet, but it’s a common piece of slang in literary circles used to describe people who read in bed. This word is a product of the Latin liber ‘book’ and cubiculum ‘sleeping chamber’.

9. fascicle
A fascicle is a part or a number in a work published in installments. Notably, the OED was published in fascicles over the course of several decades. Today, this word is synonymous with describing a volume, or one of a number of books forming a related set or series.

10. scripturient
Although this word is rarely used today, it describes something any book lover is familiar with: an author. A scripturient is simply someone who has a passion for writing. In other words, this is a book lover’s favorite kind of person. And even more interestingly, scripturients tend to get their work done in scriptoriums, also known as a room set apart for writing (often found in monasteries where manuscripts were copied). Way cooler than a personal office!
